About MapleBase Desktop
We are a London analysis practice focused on cart abandonment trends and the pictures that help retail teams act on them.
Registered business
MapleBase Desktop Ltd is the official registered business name. We were established in 2018 in London to help UK retailers read cart abandonment as a moving story rather than a single weekly percentage.
Brief history
In the first years we worked almost exclusively with mid-size fashion and homeware catalogues that had outgrown spreadsheet charts but did not want a heavyweight internal analytics programme. Clients asked for clearer pictures of when and where baskets were left — so we specialised in trend boards, funnel posters, and stakeholder briefings. Today we still operate as a small practice: analysts who draw the charts, and facilitators who walk teams through them.
Mission
Give merchandising and performance teams a shared, honest view of abandonment movement so decisions about fees, stock, and checkout wording rest on visible patterns — not on rival dashboards nobody trusts equally.
Working approach
We start from your event definitions, rebuild series carefully, and keep commentary concrete: which week moved, which device drove it, which known incident sits nearby. We avoid inflated claims about “transformation” and instead leave you with annotated boards and agreed next tests.
People
Our core team mixes former retail analysts and information designers. Engagements are led by a named analyst who stays with you from scoping through the final briefing.
Values
- Clarity over decoration — colour is for hierarchy, not noise
- Respect for messy tagging — we surface gaps instead of hiding them
- Shared ownership — briefs are written for the people who run the storefront
Community
We host occasional open briefing clinics in London for clients and invited peers, focused on seasonal abandonment patterns around major UK shopping periods.
